Anna Tenta is a Swiss/Austrian Actress and a former dancer. Born in Salzburg,Austria,she grew up in France and Switzerland with her Musician parents and her many siblings.
At age 17 she started her studies at the University of performing arts, Mozarteum and at SEAD, in Salzburg.
She received a grant for highly gifted students from the Carl Orff Society to finance her studies. Her major was dance.
She has until 2011 been working internationally as a dancer and choreographer. She created several Solo's and group pieces and has danced for Salome Schneebeli, Joachim Schloemer, Cie.Sans Filtre and the Forsythe Company, among other.
In 2009 she received the award for outstanding achievement from the city of Zürich in the field of dance and choreography. Since focusing on acting Anna has appeared in numerous TV productions in the such as “Janus” an Austrian Mini Series, “the beautiful spy” and many more.
In Theater Anna Tenta got known for “true nature”, a play she wrote, played and directed together with Johannes Glarner. It premiered 2012 at Theater am Neumarkt in Zürich.
Since 2013 she is plays a recurring role in a Flemish Belgian Comedy series “De Zonen van Van As” where she plays the Ukrainian “Valentina”. She had the chance to work alongside Catherine Deneuve in Jaco van Dormaels award winning, golden globe nominated belgian film “the brand new testament” and played “Kicki” in the BBC Hit Series “ Our Girl ” ,directed by Jan Matthys,and received very positive reviews on her moving performance.
She recently played “Meike” in Simon Jaquemet’s new feature film “der Unschuldige” and is since 2016 a guest teacher in “acting for dancers” at her Alma Mater in Salzburg.
She is based in Brussels since 2014.
