Marie Vinck (Antwerp, 1983) studied Germanic Philology at the University of Antwerp and then continued her studies at the Antwerp Conservatory.
Together with some ex-students she started up the FC Bergman theatre company (De Thuiskomst, Wandelen op de Champs Elysées..., and 300el-50el-30el).
Marie has played leading roles in about a dozen Flemish films, including Smoorverliefd, Adem, Loft and De Kus. She has also acted in Dutch films such as Ivo Van Hove’s Amsterdam and Eddy Terstall’s Vox Populi. Television viewers will remember her as ‘Sofia Belen’ in Wolven, ‘Marie-Claire’ in De Rodenburgs, ‘Louise’ in De Smaak van de Keyser and as ‘Esther’ in Stijn Coninx’ Kavijaks.
In 2005, the Flemish Audiovisual Fund confirmed her as a Belgian ‘Shooting Star’, in reference to the like-named European Film Promotion project at the Berlinale 2005.
Marie has won several awards for her film work, such as the Joseph Plateau Award for Best Belgian Actress for her role in De Kus.
