Hilde Van Mieghem (°1958) is an actress, director and writer. She made her acting debut in the feature film VRIJDAG directed by Hugo Claus. That same year she graduated from Studio Herman Teirlinck. She has played significant roles in more than sixty Belgian and international films and TVseries, including: Blonde Dolly, Sailors donʼt Cry, Mijn Papa, Mama Kafka, Moeder, Waarom leven wij? Kuchna Polska, Wildgroei, Rossini En Vacances, Der alte Affe Angst, Die Bluthochzeit, Der Architekt,… Since 1997 she has devoted herself to the development of screenplays that were realized under her direction: De Suikerpot, De Kus, Love Belongs to Everyone and Madly in Love. Dozens of awards and festival selections would follow.
She portrays a lot of supporting and guest roles in Flemish TV series as Recht op Recht, De Bunker, In Flanders Fields, The Team, etc.
In the theatre, Hilde performed in productions including: In 1991 and 1993 Lulu, Les Amants Puérils. In 2004 Het Begeren onder de Olmen Kruistochten directed by Ivo Van Hove 2004, I am a Mistake in 2007. She performed in Kinderen van de zon at NTGhent/ Toneelgroep Amsterdam and in De Gehangenen.
Currently you can see Hilde's latest film Sprakeloos in the cinema. And at the end of 2017 Hilde will play the character Rita in the newest VRT series Tabula Rasa.
