David Cantens (October 22, 1980) is a Flemish actor,
graduated in 2002 as an actor at the Conservatory of Ghent. His most famous role is that of the autistic Rudy Marsman in the TV series Marsman.
He stared in several audiovisoinal productions such as New Texas, The Pentagon, Ella, Zone Stad, Aspe, Witse, Family, Flikken, Wittekerke and The house of Anubis.
After several theater productions at Het Paleis (De Winter onder de tafel, Da iss, Marianne), NTG and the Kopergietery he started performing from 2004 on at the De Paardenkathedraal in Utrecht.
He worked in several plays as a lead actor in De Vader, Bedrog, Bedankt lieve ouders, Kassa, Tsjechov&Tsjechov en Closer.
As a musician he composed the music for Paris Texas, Memorial Vigil, Bedrog and Closer.
He contributed his parts in Mathilde's Theaterproductiehuis Zeelandia, Mamadeern from the Productiecompany Brabant Soulmates - Peter De Graef / Ensemble Leporello and also composed the music for "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf" by Hummelinck Stuurman productions.
From 2010 David is part of the core of the Spelerij theater, the theater company around Paula Bangels in which he performed Othello, Frederick, Friday and Three Sisters.
