David Cantens (°1980) graduated in 2002 as an actor at the Conservatory of Ghent. He stared in several audiovisoinal productions as a guest actor in New Texas, The Pentagon, Ella, Zone Stad, Aspe, Witse, Family, Flikken, Wittekerke and The house of Anubis. His most famous role and lead role is that of the autistic Rudy Marsman in the TV series Marsman. In the near future you can see David starring as Gert in the newest film of Hugo Van Laere, Alleen Eline.
After several theatre productions at HETPALEIS: De Winter onder de tafel, Da iss, Marianne, NTGent and the Kopergietery he started performing from 2004 on at the De Paardenkathedraal in Utrecht. He worked in several plays as a lead actor in De Vader, Bedrog, Bedankt lieve ouders, Kassa, Tsjechov&Tsjechov en Closer. Since 2010 David is part of the core of the Spelerij theater, the theatre company around Paula Bangels in which he performed Othello, Frederick, Friday and Three Sisters.
As a musician he composed the music for Paris Texas, Memorial Vigil, Bedrog and Closer. He contributed his parts in Mathilde's Theaterproductiehuis Zeelandia, Mamadeern from the Productiecompany Brabant Soulmates - Peter De Graef Ensemble Leporello and also composed the music for Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf by Hummelinck Stuurman productions.
