Chris Nietvelt (°1962) studied at the Conservatory in Antwerp. She played with different theatre companies such as De Mannen van den Dam, Globe, Het gezelschap van de Witte Kraai and De tijd. In 1988 she joined the Toneelgroep Amsterdam. In 1994 she became a member of Het Zuidelijk Toneel. She played with success in plays as Rijkemanshuis, De tramlijn die verlangen heet, Trojaanse Vrouwen, De Onbeminden, Koppen and De dame met de camelia’s. At the company Zuidelijk Toneel Hollandia she performed in the productions Woyzeck, Truus en Connie, Fort Europa and Sentimenti. Since 2005 Chris joined again Toneelgroep Amsterdam and performed in a lot of plays such as Opening Night, Romeinse tragedies, Teorema, Nooit van elkaar, de Russen! and De Meeuw. She got a Theo d’Or award for her role as Cleopatra in De Romeinse tragedies. She also performed in Germany in the productions Elementarteilchen van Schauspielhaus and the Kameliendame as Marguerite Gautier.
 
Chris played several guest roles in Flemish and Dutch series Postbus X, Thuisfront, Spoed, Verschoten & zoon,... In 2017 she had a supporting role in the series Fenix. She performed in 2 short films, Wooww and Het perfecte huwelijk and in 1994 as Judith Landzaat in the film Old tongues.
